RailsBridge Women's Ruby and Ruby On Rails Workshop Boulder CO

Ruby On Rails Railsbridge Workshop – Held at QuickLeft organized by Thoughtbot’s Desi McAdam’s

This workshop is intended to reach out to women who are new to Ruby and Rails. Men are welcome to come: please find the woman in your life who wants to learn Ruby and Rails and she can sign up and bring you as her guest. When registering, guys, you will be asked who you are coming as a guest of please be sure to fill out this question.

Total programming novices, system administrators, developers in other languages, and folks who attended our previous workshops and need a refresher are all welcome. We’ll have different groups separated by experience level. Each participant needs to bring his or her own laptop to work on.

The workshop is FREE of charge!

In this workshop, we’ll take you through building a complete web application using Ruby on Rails. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have an application on the internet that connects to a database and reads and writes information.

We’ll meet up Install Fest day to install all of the software you need, and then spend workshop day learning and writing code. You must attend the Install Fest on Friday so we can all get working on our Rails project first thing Saturday.

When you RSVP you’ll be asked a few question about your laptop operating system, level and type of programming experience, and whether you will be bringing any children. If possible we prefer to find other arrangements but let us know in the questionnaire if you need to bring children and we’ll sort something out.

Snacks will be provided Friday evening and lunch will be provided on Saturday.
If you have questions or ideas for us, the best way to get in touch is to send an email to desi.mcadam@gmail.com
